Materials

When I was a kid and a teacher I loved getting new materials. It was like a Birthday full of anticipation. I am excited to provide you with materials and see you get inspired by them. Why? Well, they offer us a way to express our creative selfs. There is so much possibility!

Everyone will need to Bring:

Water for drinking

Lawn chair

Wear old clothing

Bug spray

Mask

Sanitizer ( We will not be washing our hands because acrylic residue clogs pipes because it has plastic in it) I will take all paint water home and filter it and then dispose of it safely. If you wish you may like to bring your own gloves to protect your hands.

Sketch Book

A bag to carry your canvas back and forth. We will be using 11 x 14 size.

What I provide everyone:

Easels

Water and containers

Drop clothes

Paper Towels

Handouts as needed

For those that opted for Materials provided:

Paint and palete

Canvases

Brushes

Bring your own:

2 Canvases: 11 x14 or 16 x20 your choice(bigger ones take a little longer to paint). if you wish to use canvas boards that is fine as well. Micheal's has coupons online and sales.

A palette : You can bring a small meat tray washed and ready to go or if you have one you use that is good.

Press 'n Seal and a small spray bottle of water to preserver your paint it you want to keep it fresh for later. I usually spray my paint if I have globs left, then cover it with Press'n seal . When I get home I spray again and put in the the fridge. Sometimes it dries out if I don't get to it the next day.

Acrylic Paint: white, black, cerulean blue, blue cobalt magenta, yellow (cadmium yellow med), red, and what you like.

Acrylic Brushes:

I used round , flat, bright ,filbert ,and fan the most. I am not a big brush person if you are that is fine. I don't use pointed round because I like stiffness for details. Feel free to let me know if you are have trouble picking out brushes. Also my brushes are inexpensive.

You will need something to clean you brushes with Dawn works well. However, I usually use " The Masters" Brush cleaner and preserver. I love the produce and the painter graphic on it! I rarely replace my brushes. Never dry your brushes upside down, because then the wetness wears away at the brush and attachment just lay mine on the the side on paper towel.

I am so excited to see you create, email me if you have questions about any materials: [email protected]
